SEAN MATTISON – DIRECTOR
Sean Mattison is a director and cinematographer based in Brooklyn, NY. As a DP he has worked with various award winning directors including Pamela Yates (500 Years, Granito: How to Nail A Dictator), Lotfy Nathan (12 O’Clock Boys), The Safdie Brothers (Heaven Knows What, Good Time) and Jay Bulger (Beware of Mr. Baker). He was also a camera operator on “Ballplayer: Pelotero” (Strand Releasing) and “Schooled: The Price of College Sports” (Epix). In 2016 he co-produced the Netflix documentary “Sour Grapes”, a true crime documentary about renowned con artist Rudy Kurniawan and his conviction for wine fraud. He is multi-lingual and has worked in many different countries across Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
SAM ELLISON – DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Sam Ellison is a non-fiction filmmaker whose work has focused on the intercultural peripheries of US power. He is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, and a constant traveler. His recent films include Distribution (2017 Atlanta Film Festival Honorable Mention for Documentary Short, Glasgow Short Film Festival, Sebastopol Documentary Festival), and Between Seasons (2017 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival). Sam’s cinematography credits include work as 2nd Unit DP on Academy Award winner Manchester By The Sea, and camera operator on the 2017 Sundance selection The Incredible Jessica James. He received his BA from Harvard University in 2008 and his MFA from Stanford University’s Documentary Film Program in 2017.
TREVOR MARTIN – PRODUCER
Trevor Martin is a producer, director, and owner of Guagua Productions. Since 2009, he has directed and produced award winning documentaries and distinctive commercial content for top distributors, brands and nonprofits around the country. Guagua’s feature films have appeared in theaters and film festivals around the world; been broadcast on HBO, Showtime, Epix, Fusion, and Netflix; and featured in The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Vice, and ESPN. His feature documentary, Ballplayer: Pelotero (2012), was filmed on location in the Dominican Republic for 9 months, and follows two teenage baseball players navigating the world of MLB recruitment on the island. It was named a “Critic’s Pick” by the New York Times, The Washington Post and New York Magazine, as well as called the “7th best baseball film of all time” by Bleacher Report. Another feature documentary, Schooled: The Price of College Sports (2013), examines the NCAA’s treatment of college athletes through a lens of human rights and economics and premiered on EPIX. The film broke several national news stories, which were featured on the front web pages of ESPN, CBS Sports, and Sports Illustrated. Martin also served as an associate producer on Lotfy Nathan’s 12 O’Clock Boys (2014, Oscilloscope, Showtime). Currently he is producing a sequel to Ballplayer: Pelotero.
